ACT announced that starting today (Sept 1, 2018) they’ll have a “new policy that will allow students who test with a few waiver the opportunity to send up to 20 ASRs for free after the test”.
Does anyone know how to apply this new ASR fee waiver?? I’ve tried to go through the regular process of sending ASRs but for the fee, there’s only 1 drop down box that says $13 (the regular ASR fee) and nowhere for any fee waivers.
If anyone has had success in using the new ASRs for free, please share how you did it! Thank you!!
Update (9/9/18): I’ve contacted ACT, and initially, they said this option is only for those who tested with a 2018-2019 fee waiver, then I emailed them back with a link to their FAQ site that explicitly said those who tested prior to Sept 1, 2018 could still use their new policy to their advantage.
ACT customer service then replied saying that this option for those who tested prior to Sept 1, 2018 will have the option available to them “soon”. I then followed up asking whether “soon” would be before mid-October so I could send my ACT scores to colleges that I’m applying to ED/EA, and I received a response saying they don’t have an estimated time and to contact them in a couple of weeks to see if they have an update.
For those that are relying on this new policy to apply to colleges due to financial constrictions like me, please contribute to this thread if you have any updates!! Thanks everyone!
