DD accepted to St. George / Trinity and received and received a President’s Scholar award. Applied for Pearson (US Citizen/resident) and has not heard anything. Any thoughts about when Pearson decisions will be announced? How difficult is it to receive in-course scholarships?
@DadofThree111 Pearson decisions are usually made in April. The difficulty of achieving a course award is really impossible to predict. It will depend on the course (not all courses, obviously, will have a monetary award), the performance of those students in the course, varying by year, etc.
Just got my offer two days ago! I’m at Woodsworth. I also received the UofT Scholar scholarship, and I’m waiting to hear about the Pearson Scholarship.
Are there any special visit / recruitment days between now and May 1? DD (admitted to St. George A&S / Trinity) visited campus about a year ago and would like to refresh/expand her experience. She’s aware of the March 24 A&S tour and the June 17 Trinity orientation.
Hi, just got admitted to St.George’s CompSci. Predicted IB points is around 40, international. (HL: Maths, Literature, ITGS; SL: Psych, Bio, French ab)
(I think we should post our stats (either accepted or rejected) as it would be a great help to those of you who are considering UofT or are awaiting for a decison
@xshadowoflightx Gratz dude! What college did you get into?
As for stats,
Accepted (Trinity College)
Senior Year GPA UW: 3.73; W: 4.73. All AP Classes (BC Calc, Physics C, Statistics, English Lit, US Gov).
SAT: 1560 (770 English, 790 Math)
SAT Subject Tests: 800 Math Level 2, 800 Physics
For my Trinity Essay:
Essay 1: I wrote about playing the violin (was a pretty poor essay)
Essay 2: I wrote a Shakespearian Sonnet (because I didn’t want to write an entire essay) about how man chisels his own likeness into stone, and in doing so, causes his future creations to do the same.
I think I got into Trinity mostly based on my grades/test scores.
Here are my stats:
Accepted to A&S–Social Sciences at Woodsworth College (my top college choice) and UofT Scholar.
Cumulative GPA before Senior year: 4.5 W; 3.95 UW.
Senior Year GPA: 5.0 W; 4.0 UW.

SAT (new): 1470 (770 Reading/Writing; 700 Math; 23 Writing)
ACT: 34 (36 English; 35 Reading; 33 Science; 33 Math)
SAT Subject Tests: 800 Spanish; 780 US History
AP Tests: 5s on Spanish Language, English Language, and US History
Do you mind telling me your SAT/ACT scores and GPA so I have an idea what to expect. I am from Michigan

Trinity Essays:
- Was about a camp I’ve gone to every summer of high school where you help mentally and physically disabled young adults.
- Was about going on a run and falling because I saw a dog while listening to Beyonce (really weird I know but it had a good message and really revealed my personality)
Hi, just got admitted into St. George Engineering. I’m wondering if it is a conditional offer since they told me to keep my final grades consistent. If I got 92% on last semester’s final grades, is it acceptable to get 85%+ this semester?
I have recently been admitted for the Masters of Information program at University of Toronto. I am presently awaiting my admit at Mcgill. Which one do you guys think would be be better to go for?
@Legacy23 I think U of T
JJ1112233 when did you apply?
Hey guys!
So I got in but I hadn’t applied for any scholarships or aid…
Is there any way to ask for it now?
I emailed New College and they said that there’s nothing I can do but is there actually no such appeal?
There’s no appeal. The university doesn’t provide need-based financial aid. That comes directly from the provinces if you’re a citizen or permanent resident. Scholarships or merit aid that don’t require applications are handed out to top scorers. Application deadlines for other scholarships has passed.
Thanks @bouders
Does anyone know when residency applications go up on MyRes or elsewhere? I think I read somewhere that said it was today, however it’s not up yet.
@Nata11 Engineering TrackOne
when, not where
