So , i know that the new AP Bio format has changed , but i'm not able to understand it? is it harder or easier to get a five?

I think it’s harder, last year, only 5% of test takers got a 5. I didn’t think the test was too bad (I got a 4). I think getting a 4 or up is pretty easy if you work at it, because most of the questions seem to be based upon reading quickly and knowing basic concepts. It’s the free response that killed a lot of people’s scores (including mine).

I also got a 4. The multiple choice was much easier than expected; however, the free response was pretty brutal. I believe the changed format has made the test more difficult. Most of the questions are lengthy and require a good amount of reading from what I experienced.

I have not taken AP Bio, but from what I’ve heard and read, its more application based than it is content based. Its harder to get a 5, because this year, 5% of test takers scored a 5, while the year before, it was around 20% I believe, so I imagine the reformatting was intentional.

i got a 4 but i could have sworn the test was easier than all the previous exams. probably explains the curve

but some of the questions, especially in the newly added grid in section, required NO knowledge of biology, especially not ap level. a lot of the frq were the same way

but the TIME constraint
