Why did so many people get a 5 on the ap bio this year

I'm just worried with what I got. Did the people with a 5 think it was hard?

Cause Bio is just pure memorization so there were probably a lot of
people who are good at memorization who took it.

You should take information from College Confidential with a grain of salt. Among others, there is a considerable amount of high-achievers here that hardly represent the whole student population.

Personally, when I took AP Bio [and received a 5], I wasn’t expecting it—I felt good about it, but did not want to jinx myself haha :)

There’s no way that I got 5.

^Lies.

If I managed to get a 5, there’s no way in hell you didn’t.

And OP, I thought it was of reasonable difficulty, considering how poorly I prepared for it.

No, trust me. :)

^Did you leave the answer sheet blank?

I’m not going to lie, I came out of the test completely confident that I got a 5, and I did. I personally thought the test was easy, but that’s probably due to the fact that I would read my AP Bio textbook as leisure reading and therefore I knew the information inside and out.

Well, no, but…

Yeah, I think my biggest problem was not knowing the content. (Studying biology is not my thing.)

I was definitely prepared, and after the exam, I too felt like it was fairly easy. I would have been surprised if I didn’t get a 5.

Tsk, tsk. CC will be the death of your transcript.

Given my aversion to the sciences in general and the life sciences in particular, biology is not my “thing” either. :)

So many people got a 5 because this is CC.

Well, it takes and gives. :)

We had 2 weeks before APs started in which our teacher told us to do portfolio drawings and teach ourselves Anatomy and Physiology. Most people in my class were not prepared for a good 30-40% of both the IB and AP exams.

I’ll be thrilled with a 4

I got a 5 unsure if I wad going to pass -.-

I’ll be really happy if I get 3, shocked if I get 4, and ashamed with the College Board if I get 5.

^clever way to put it :-)

it doesn’t really matter for me, anyways. Tufts gives me a Natural sciences credit for my 5 on APES from sophomore year, so it’s all good. It’s basically for pride at this point.

Or shame, as the case may be.

The cutoff for a 5 could have been lower this year. I got a five, and when I finished the test, I wasn’t even sure if I would pass.

I got a 5. Expected it, since I studied like hell for 3 months beforehand.

Those were my exact sentiments - and just look what I got on the exam.

I fully expect the world to fall to pieces if you don’t get a 5.

:) Okay, I’m exaggerating. But still.
