AP Algebra 1

Just kidding :-)

AP Astronomy should be feasible; and I would like it very much as I took an astronomy course this year online that was very physics and chemistry based. Quite interesting as well.

Most universities have a maximum number of credits allowed thru transfer, AP, Clep, et al.

While many of the AP exams might be accepted by a particular school, few of the total available apply toward particular majors, much less general education requirements.
For example, only nine of the gazillion AP subjects will apply toward a degree in the sciences at a state school such as the University of Washington.

CB already has enough superfluous AP exams: Psych, Phys B, . . . .

^ Just to clarify, "gazillion" really means 37.

I believe that if someone wants to study a subject that they're interested in at an advanced level, they should be able to do so. Just because an exam like Psych won't necessarily get you a whole lot of university credit, doesn't mean that the exam should be discontinued. You know, it is possible to learn something for the sake of learning it, even if it won't serve a greater purpose.

AP german lit used to exist. they trashed it cuz they didnt have enuff subscribers tho..

I agree with kollegekid, however, college classes are way more expensive than taking an AP exam. Compare $500 o $80. I don't think most people have that much money... I don't think AP would be able to add harder math classes like AP Linear Algebra, AP Differential Equations, because look at the AP Calculus test, the curve makes the test easier than taking a college course.

AP Sociology?
AP Anthropology?

AP Sleep

^You are correct.

everyone wins.

AP Philosophy
AP Astronomy
AP Business
AP Creative Writing

I would have liked to see some more math AP's, like someone else said, but adding AP's in general doesn't seem like a good idea to me. They should keep the list where it is. As long as you have some basic classes, there's no need to go into too much depth as high school courses. They should save those for college. Kids are already going into school with 1/3 of the credits they need to graduate anyway. If they expand the AP course list anymore Junior and Senior year in high school willl just be like college for some kids.

And rockermcr, that's a very noble and idealistic idea (people should be able to study something they're interested in, even if it's not for college credit). How about just making it an honors course at your school then, and not an AP? The point of AP's is for the college credit, after all.

AP Transfiguation for $1000
