New BB math question misprint?

Test 5, Section 2, #13. It reads as:

The total daily cost c, in dollars, of producing x units of a certain product is given by the function c(x)5(600x-200/x)1k, where k is a constant and x # 100. If 20 units were produced yesterday for a total cost of $640, what is the value of k?

There is no equals sign after c(x) to indicate the function..I have no idea what x # 100 means, and I can't see any way of knowing from the problem. Is this a misprint?

It’s the same problem as p. 521 in the original BB.

In my copy in the original, I have c(x) = (600x - 200)/x + k, and x <= 100, instead of the # sign.

It’s probably a typo.

Yeah, I think it’s a typo. I sent them an email a couple months ago when I noticed the error. They’ve probably noticed it by now.

yeah i’ve noticed there a lot of typos actually in the new version

collegeboard has noticed this. The books gotten before it was released did NOT come with a paper fixing errors AND ANSWERS. so check borders or something and go look for a yellow paper in the new book
