New College List to Chance! (I will chance back)

I have a new college list for the willing CC public to chance. Again, I will post my credentials:

South Carolina Resident
GPA: 3.67 (UW) 4.5 (W)
ACT: 28 (target score is a 32)
SAT: 1780(target here would be about 1950)
Class Rank: Top 12%-14%
AP's:
-10th APWH= 5
-11th APUS= 5
-11th APLANG= 3
-12th APBIO
-12th APGOV'T

Other Academic Info: Honors classes all the way.

Test Info: Probably one more of each (maybe 2 ACT's) - I assume that if I achieve my 32, that the low SAT score will become less relevant...

Senior Class President - Student Gov't
Beta Club member first two years

9 University of Notre Dame

10 Lafayette College

11 Wofford College/Furman University/Presbyterian College (one out of three will be picked, chance all three if possible)

1 Davidson College - Reach

3 Wake Forest University - Reach

4 University of South Carolina (shooting for honors college or Capstone Scholar) - You’ll get it, not sure if you’d get the Honors/Scholar. Don’t know enough about those programs.

5 Colgate University - Reach (get your scores up!)

7 Northwestern University - Reach

8 Ivy Leagues: Princeton/Brown/Dartmouth - They’re all reaches, your best shot is probably Brown or Cornell…but honestly, you most likely won’t be accepted without an awesome hook or much much better scores (think: 2200 or 34)

9 University of Notre Dame - High match

10 Lafayette College - High Match (scores again…)

11 Wofford College/Furman University/Presbyterian College (don’t know anything about these…)

I’d say get the scores up, seriously, they’ll really hold you back. Sorry if this seems harsh, I just want to be realistic. I don’t go off of assumed scores, because in my experience sometimes you don’t get them. Don’t count your winnings before you’ve won. If you’d chance me back in my thread, I’d also really appreciate it and feel free to be brutal.

I’d say you’re gonna have a tough time getting into Davidson, Northwestern, and especially the Ivies. There are plenty of people with low test scores at Davidson, but most have phenomenally high GPAs. With Test Scores like that, you’d need to be ranked ~top 5% in your class. Ivies are a reach for anyone, and they do look closely at test scores. Most entering any Ivy will have at least a 2100 or a 32. Wake Forest is probably the most doable “reach”

Davidson, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Ivies all look like high reaches. The scores aren’t cutting it. GPA is alright, not being in the top 10% will hurt your chances. I wouldn’t waste an application on the Ivies.

Good luck.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/790347-notre-dame-chances-ea-chance-back-neat-clean.html

I actually am in the top 10%, my rank went up at the end of the spring - I copied and pasted my stats. I am 23 out of 264.

Then your shots are looking better. But unhooked, and if you cant bring your ACT up, I still wouldn’t waste the applications on the Ivies.
