What has your experience been with NCF? Whether you just visited the campus, or are a student (or parent of a student) I would like to hear your input on the school, their grading system, and their environment. Any and all posts would e greatly appreciated as I am interested in attending this school, but have yet to check out the campus for myself.

More info from me!

So far our experience has been really good with NCF. The first time we visited, we did the standard tour and my D went to a class. Both my H and D loved it right away. I was a bit more unsure, feeling my D should accept her scholarship to BU. My D thought the class at NCF was the best she had been to at any college (she attended classes for the same course at Columbia, BU, UF, etc. to compare). The professor was amazing and the students were engaged in the discussion. For her this was the most important factor in deciding which college to attend.

On my second visit, we got to spend more time seeing what's not on the tour and talking to NCF profs and students. That's when I really started appreciating it and my D really couldn't imagine going anywhere else. It is a very small school and different from others we looked at.

My view is that the school prepares you very well for post graduate programs. Although she is an excellent student, my D is a bit nervous about how hard it will be to pass a contract, but I like that they include personal and academic growth in it. The environment at NCF seems to be friendly and relaxed. Parts of the campus are really pretty and other parts are under construction or need updating. A walkway over US 41 joins the two parts of the campus, it has the airport on one side and Ringling Museum on the other. The campus feels very seperate from the area around it and it seems like student life is focused on it. The best advice I can give, is go visit and see if it is a fit.
