I got invited to the Yale conference and nominated for college visits.

I received a reply about an hour ago. No luck for me :-(

Same thing as ccrawfor92
It’s totally flippin’ awesome, but I wish’d I got the telementor. I keep hearing they’re fahmazing.
Good luck to all.

Didn’t get anything. I’m still going to apply for the match
Hope that works out better… :/

Yep, I’m a failure, too. All of the nice words at the end doesn’t make it any better that you didn’t get in; you still fell like this: .l… -_-

I got invited to the Yale conference and nominated for college visits. At the end of the email though it says “we would like to congratulate you once again on your College Prep Scholarship award.” So does that mean that we can say we won the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship award even though we didn’t get accepted into a summer program?

So is this email final? Does anyone know if the Quest for Excellence or Summer Program emails come later in a separate email?

I got on the waitlist for the Yale or Standford conferences and nominated for a campus visit! I’m just excited to get anything. Will achieving this much at least give me a good chance for the college match?

yale conference and nominated for college visit! when do we hear about quest for excellence and summer programs? would it have been in the same email?

My D has been invited to the conference at Stanford, and she gets the laptop and personalized counseling from a QB staffmember on how to write the best college essays.

Congratulations to everyone who won something. To everyone who didn’t, I really understand what a disappointment it must be. Up until now, my daughter had never won anything, either. I’m sure your time will come.

IMPORTANTTo anyone who would like to attend a conference similar to the QB one at Stanford, e-mail me and I’ll send you the web link for the one being held on May 15 at Stanford. It looks very similar and is intended mainly for under-represented minorities, but I e-mailed them and they said non-minority students are welcome. You should hurry up and register, though, because space is limited.*

My daughter and I were already planning to go to this, so we’ll see you there!

I didn’t fill out the personalized Questbridge college counselor form on time i really regret not doing so. But i received an invitation to the Stanford Conference as well as a free college visit. I’m happy either way :)

I’m just invited to the conference in Stanford and nominated to be considered for an all-expense-paid campus visit!!! I couldn’t believe it! Since I just failed a math test today.

Same. When do we know which college visits they’ll pay for, if any? I would totally love to visit Cali this summer! :)

Wow!! Congratulations to her! You guys must be so happy.

"So does that mean that we can say we won the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship award even though we didn’t get accepted into a summer program? "

Yeah. Any of the things offered are considered College Prep Scholarship Awards, I think. Not just the summer program. So as long as you got something, you can say you got the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship Award.

On that note, I got an email at 1 PM today saying I was invited to the Stanford conference and nominated for college visits! :)

Exciting.
Can’t wait to apply for Match.

Does getting nominated for both college visits and telementoring mean that I got the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship award? At the end of the email it said “Congratulations on your College Prep Scholarship award nomination.”

well I got invited to attend the conference at Yale and nominated for the college visit as well. I am more than satisfied :)

I was invited to the Stanford Conference and nominated for the colege visit. woo hoo!!

Learned today that my son is a “Fein fellow award recipient” for 2010. We are thrilled. Award includes a laptop, and an invitation to attend the college admissions conference at Yale. Does anyone know if this also includes aid for sat prep? And also, does anyone know if we can choose an Apple over a PC? Just curious. We are very very grateful to have been given this award.

So excited:
"Will winning a College Prep Scholarship award make me more likely to win a National College Match award?

Probably. The College Prep Scholarship awards are designed to prepare students to be strong applicants for the National College Match as well as for the admissions process for selective colleges more generally. At the same time, it is important to note that many past applicants have received College Match scholarships without having applied for or received a College Prep Scholarship award, and not all College Prep Scholarship awardees go on to receive College Match scholarships. "

I also got invited to the Yale conference and campus visit nomination. Does anyone know how to get a travel grant?
