Many of you may be extremely stressed out as I am. The only thing I wanted was withdrawal my other applications, deposit and enroll. Now we begin with another painful waiting period to find out more news.
I am the valedictorian of my class, 96 GPA. I currently am taking New Visions Medical Career Program which is amazing interdisciplinary style learning situation where we rotate around 27 rotations of a hospital learning by a lot of hands on experience. Besides that I only have room for AP Bio. I pulled a 100% in Bio first marking period, and an overall 99.5%. Sent this to Cornell.
My ultimate goal is to end up with my M.D. I live in the finger lakes in new york and Cornell has always been my dream school, therefore I applied ED. However i was deferred.
I still long to gain admittance and am hoping for any help!
There was a mix up with my October SAT scores where they came very late! I didnt receive them until November 26th. My first set of scored:
Critical Reading: 650
Math: 580
Writing:630
New Scores:
Critical Reading: 680
Math:610
Writing: 590
Now i understand the SAT scores arent completely up to par with my competing peers. However the new set of scores brought my total to a 1290! Much better than before. I am almost positive that because the scores came too late, my application was reviewed with the old scores and i was still deferred rather than rejected. My recommendations were glowing and my essays were great! I spent weeks on just the essays, very personal.
Now between the Valedictorian, NVMCP, first marking period avg, extracurriculars, recommendations, and essays I hoped to have the low math SAT score overlooked.
Do you think that the new scores will make a difference this time around?
Any other help would be great....Cornell is the only university I can see myself at.
thanks
