After learning that my school will be offering Spanish III this year, I have decided to ask to have my schedule changed so that I can take the class. If I take Spanish III, which I think is an honors class but I'm not sure this is what my schedule will look like:

AP Language and Composition
AP US History
AP Calculus AB
AP Statistics
Honors Physics
Spanish III (could be honors)
Piano II

I will be a junior this year, and I would like some study tips and time management tips to help me with this heavy course load. This year I want to challenge myself to really work hard. My schedule for my sophomore year was:

Honors English II
Honors Chemistry
Honors Advanced Math (which is PreCal and Trig)
Honors Civics
Piano I
PE/Health
IBCA

I have gotten straight A's basically all my life and last year I was ranked 1st in my class. However, I have never studied before for a test or anything but I do work hard. I only study the night before or the class before so my goal is to actually challenge myself without dropping my GPA. Can you please give me any advice on study tips, time management? All advice will be appreciated.

Hey i’m a junior too. I’m taking 2 AP and 2 dual enrollment classes so my schedule should be similar. I took pretty hard classes last year and my advice: DON’T PROCRASTINATE! That was my biggest problem. Don’t be afraid to do homework and studying on the weekend either to lighten up your weekday load. English and statistics are easy classes from what I’ve heard. The trend among most schools is that APUSH is a lot of reading and memorizing. Some people have said calculus is hard too. I took honors physics last year and it was a breeze for me. It was easy for most math oriented people. I don’t know about spanish and piano, since I take chinese and don’t play piano. For all of your classes i would say when you get notes in class, even if there isn’t a quiz or test the next class, read and memorize them anyway. It lets you learn materiel gradually without having to cram the night before. Good luck!

What comput1 said basically, I’m an upcoming student for AP Spanish Lang, and you seriously do not need to take the Honors for Spanish III. At least in my district, its basically a whole course dedicated to studying of comprehensive grammar. Just take the regular class and take it easy, the rest of your classes are carrying your transcript (especially AP Calc AB as a Junior).

Piano II would be a wonderful break class, do your work in that class if you can - you will probably need it. At least at my school, AP English is a cruel class - it is easy but it is just too tedious because you have to dedicate so much time to it. APUSH just read and do the daily assignments, dedicate the class to an hour, I’m an upcoming APUSH student as well. AP Stats can be your break class as well, it is easier than Pre Calculus, actually. AP Calc AB depends on your math skills and Pre Calc grade, its a semester Calculus I course extended to a year (yay). Physics Hon., just like Chemistry - completely depends on your teacher, but I see you like math from your schedule, so I think you will be fine.

It seems barely doable to me, I dunno. Dedicate each class though, do not procrastinate and do the work. If you need to drop a class because of the rigor being too high for you I would go with AP English Lang and just take AP English Lit senior year to satisfy it.
