Since the other thread has been up for a month, I thought it would be nice to set up a more recent one. Anyone STILL missing a credential on the site that they HAVEN'T been contacted about?

I'm missing the MAth/Science Rec which was def sent in October...

I got an e-mail TODAY saying a few things were missing (recs, transcript, counselor report). They say to have it e-mailed or faxed by monday.
...
I don't know about public schools in Chicago, but my guidance counselor sure as anything won't be resending anything this weekend!
I'm nearly positive this stuff got sent already. I guess all I can do is ask my counselor Monday morning and call the admissions office.

Me too apparently, MY "HS transcript" is not there yet. But I mean isn't this same as the offical school transcript? ANyone help me before I cry out?

I'm in the same situation as the OP. I have everything but my math/science and I haven't been contacted yet. Unfortunately, the teacher who wrote the rec no longer teaches at my school so its going to be hard as hell to contact her.

Is it just me, or is there a systematic problem at Chicago with processing credentials? Yes, this is a criticism. I don't see any other threads like these with people freaking about missing credentials for other schools. Just a personal anecdote, I applied EA to both Chicago and MIT. My school sent out the transcripts and counselor recommendations on the same day. MIT processed it on november 9th, didn't show up for chicago until two days ago, almost three weeks slower than MIT. What's going on here? I'm sure that they're working as hard as they can, but nevertheless it's hard to not raise the question of issues on their side. Thankfully, I'm not one of those who got a missing credentials email, but I easily could have.

You are badly misinformed, and spoiled, in the good way (no insult to you, but rather a compliement to UCHICAGO). I have sooo many friends who are applying to other early action programs at schools like Yale, Georgetown, Harvard, etc, and they are amazed when I tell them that I actually get to see the status of my application. The point: at these other schools, there ARE NO CREDENTIAL CHECKING SITES.
Which brings up the question as to whether this is even a wise-move for Chicago. Imagine how burdened their telephone operator is! I wouldn't even be surprised if they had a Bellsouth-like department where 200 old-ladies pick up telephones in the basement: "This is Uchicago Admissions, where may I direct your call?" (Just a thought!)

My counsellor report hasn't shown up, which is pretty weird as it is in the same envelope with HS transcript..i dunno what happened, and it's only 11 days to the date of decision..i wonder whether they've started to process the application alrea
