Hi all,
I'm live Germany. How can I get internship in USA next summer? I'm Electrical Engineering student (I'll be finishing year 3 next summer). I specialise in Automation and control: Embedded Systems and DSP.
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Typically, zickler, all internship searches should begin at the university you're attending. Have you gone that route yet?

Do you also have an advisor? Have you talked to him/her, also?

Thanks j.project. Actually we don't have any 'official' internship with USA companies. But I intend arranging a private intern with a US company, preferrably in Embedded Systems and Telecommunication Industry. But I don't know which companies take international students.

You could find some difficulty in that, if you end up having to research which companies take international students on your own. It's not hard to assume that most US companies will prefer to deal with university administration as the middle man in light of delicate political situations.

It's no secret that there's been a strain regarding international students coming into our country, but I'm not here to write about politics. If your school can't help you at all, as in, you're completely on your own, then be prepared for a lot of bureaucratic red tape and just overall difficulty coming over here. Hey, you might luck out with some company who won't give you too hard of a time, so good luck with that.

Here's hoping other CC members will be able to help you out.

Getting intership in US would be almost impossible for you. However, many mutinationals have internship programs in the countries they operate in. You may want to search companies that have large operations in you home country and contacting them directly.
