Looks like they’re up to 70M users now. Pretty impressive growth for just a few days.
I’ll probably join eventually, but waiting until they offer the ability to prioritize people you follow. That feature is already on Instagram, so I suspect they’re holding off deliberately so people’s feeds are full while the platform ramps up.
I did join for one of my clients. Finding it incredibly boring so far because the feed is the same as the folks my client follows, which is not a lot of accounts and they are related to the client’s business or their friends. If I could join as myself I might find it slightly more interesting, but right now you can only have one account, unlike Instagram. It really does nothing for me right now.
Will definitely not be signing up for Threads.

I just signed up for Instagram and Threads. A few people who I follow on X have accounts on Threads, but they are not posting.
We had a thread on Threads when it first launched. Instagram is still king in my following world but I would rather hang out on Threads than X!
I got on Threads but didn’t get much traction there. Have now adopted Bluesky as my Twitter alternative. (not using that dumb name.)
