Yesterday and today the site seems to be especially buggy. I’ve been posting in Dharma’s new thread but while the time stamp on the post itself is correct the time on the list menu is consistently wrong (for other posters as well): 8:15 yesterday, meaning that the thread never bumps to the first page.
My icon appears and disappears, typing is excruciatingly slow, all signs of a site with a lot of what software programmers call “technical debt.” Anyone else having these problems?
I can’t find a bug reporting feature on the site so I’m hoping that one of the moderators will see this and report it to the developers.
Sorry for any inconveniences here. We’ve been seeing some oddities with timestamping inconsistencies here and there. Doesn’t seem to be a broad issue, so perhaps there are some browser/caching errors going on. I’m not sure why your icon would come and go, and the typing sluggishness would tend to be on your end (i.e. computer’s CPU is taxed at the moment). Are these new issues for you, or have they been consistent since you joined, 3Trees?
Icon disappeared when I navigated away from the splash page (e.g. While looking for a page to report bugs). Same with the slow typing. It’s happening on both iPad and MacAir using Safari
I typically have the slow typing issue when I am maxing out RAM (typically unintentionally). It’s never been isolated to one site, however. Others having these problems with the icons and slow typing?
I’m an IT exec. Trust me, I don’t have any RAM shortage (And haven’t had the problem since I posted this morning–kind of like when you finally make an appt for your sick kid to see the Dr. and their symptoms immediately disappear.) More concerning though is the time stamp issue, as it effectively prevents a thread from having wider participation. Thanks again, mods, for jumping on this.
Ha…but it can happen to the best of us Yeah, not sure about the icon and slow typing. As with many issues we see here, it seems random and selective. Lucky you!
The timestamping issue could have an array of potential causes. We even saw this on the old site once in a while, though that was a server clock issue.
So in Safari, I just can’t see my avatar or use a new one, but the browser stays open.
I changed the browser to Dolphin, and when I click on “choose a new photo”, the browser crashes.
@emeraldkity4, there seems to be an issue with uploading pics to the site. I think it applies to those who tried to change their avatars after the outage. The development team has been informed and is working on having it fixed. I’ll keep you updated. Thanks!
guys, I got word from the tech team that the avatar issue should be fixed by now. Please let me know in case you still encounter any difficulties. Thanks!
