Sorry, I think that C in Pre-cal sophomore year will keep you out.

… No, just kidding. You look like you have a great resume and have as good a chance as anyone else with your stats. Damn, so many smart people on CC !! I just actually did the college search function here with my stats and my chances for my 1st choice school came up “0%” … gotta love it.

Way to take my thread name, lol.

But in all seriousness, you have a really good resume. Your passion for FBLA is evident, and you clearly have achieved a lot in it. You have excellent E.C.'s. It looks like you lead everything that you are in, and it looks like you have achieved in everything.

With that being said, your SAT is a tad low for the Ivy’s. Do retake it, and try to get a 2300 or over. Since all of the schools you listed are about as competitive as each other, I wont chance you for each one, but I’ll say that you have as good a chance as anyone at them. The fact that you are low income, and Hispanic, does help you out. Get a 2300, and I am sure that you will get into at least two of the schools on your list. Duke and Georgetown are the most likely of those that you mentioned.

With that being said, you have to pick at least a few safety schools. Apply to whatever the best state school in Arizona is. Although you have a good chance of getting into the schools you listed, there is no guarantee, so a safety is necessary.

Now, will you chance back for the thread whose name your thread shares?

Well, pretty much all the schools you listed are Ivy or Ivy-level, apart from Georgetown. They’re all reaches, except Georgetown, which is a high match.

But on to the more important stuff: your leadership is excellent. This will work in your favor for Georgetown, Wharton, Duke, Harvard, and possibly Yale. Princeton and UChicago, in my opinion, are more intellectually-focused schools. At the same time, however, they do have top notch debate teams, so I can’t really tell how it would work out for you. Stanford is erratic, and has the lowest admission rate of any of these schools, along with a clear in-state preference. I would be very surprised if you got into stanford, but you should get into at least 2-3 of the schools you listed.

Remember to keep safeties and matches though; currently only georgetown is a match. And raise your SAT if possible, it will help you out tremendously.

Try to bring up your SAT score. Right now is not very competitive for these schools. Also, you did not show the break down of the scores. You may also want to try ACT to see if you can do better.

Don’t worry about that C, really it’s not going to affect you much seeing as you’re valedictorian with a rigorous course load. Your leadership is your strongest attribute, especially if you’re applying as some sort of government or business related major. Being hispanic gives you a bump, your SAT scores are good but slightly below ivy league averages. If you could boost that above a 1500+ CR/M and a 2300 combined that would really help with your great ECs. You might be an ACT person, so be sure to take a practice test and see if you prefer that instead. Remember, the ivies are reaches for everyone, so make sure to add some safeties and matches to this list! I’d hate to see a talented kid like you not have somewhere to go for college. All that being said:

Yale: Reach
Harvard: High Reach
Princeton: Reach (Lower than harvard because your political leadership stuff looks good)
Wharton: Low Reach/Reach
University of Chicago: Low Reach
Stanford: Reach
Georgetown: High Match/Low Reach (they’re going to LOVE your EC’s)
Duke: Low Reach (Hispanic and from Arizona help you here)
