<p>Wow. It sounds like you have been in a super competitive environment. That is really sad if people have to cheat and lie to get into top schools. Do you mean it's necessary to cheat to keep up the grades or to at least compete with those who do?</p>
<p>Yes, a lot of people forget that we are in school to learn rather than just get a letter grade. I guess my school is probably the opposite of yours, though. At my school people just want to get by and graduate. For example, at my school only 4-6 of last years grade (45 total) are attending a four year college. </p>
<p>Well, I hope you get in alby! But don't stress yourself. You did what you could and the rest is just a matter of luck. I am sure you will get into a great school, whether it be Williams or another top school.</p>
<p>My school is filled with grade-obssessed Asian people. Although I study hard, I am more of a relaxed/slacker type. When I love or hate something, I do it with passion. </p>
<p>I didn't really fit in with some top kids in my school (with always few exceptions). They are so obssessed and obnoxious. Some of them wouldn't talk to 'less-smart people' because they think they are so smart/high-class/etc. This kind of attitude really turned me off.</p>
<p>Well this is how my school is... if you choose to work your butt off you have to compete with about 50% of the whole class. In a class of 450 ppl, that's 225 kids all wanting to get into an Ivy League school or something of the sort. When all of them compete for the limited number of spots available at these 10-20 schools, there is bound to be some competition and some foul play comes up. I always try to keep myself away from that stuff and try to get to the deep roots of learning, but sometimes my grade suffers in the process. But thanks for the good wishes Leonesa, I just hope I can get into Williams.</p>
