New Penn Essay

If you all check your e-mail, you'll see that Penn changed their prompt about what academic, extracurricular, and research opportunities you'd pursue at Penn to how you'll "engage academically." Should I still include stuff about research and extracurriculars if they relate to my major?

Where did you get the prompt? I thought Commonapp is not open.

@fedskywalker Penn emailed it to students on their mailing list.

@infinityguitars Yea, I saw the email. Maybe you shouldn’t do so much extracurriculars, unless you are definitely planning on partaking in those activities should you be admitted to Penn (in that case, you should find out which of the activities you are interested in are offered at Penn). Don’t merely state the activities, but how will you really take advantage of them. I think discussion of substantial research activities would be more beneficial for this prompt, though.

Let me know what you think :)

Very confusing prompts, have you guys started?

I have not started… I don’t know what to write -_-

Worst part, I spent the first week of my summer perfecting my Why penn essay! I am going to set up a way for fellow CCrs to exchange ideas/strategies about the essay. PM me if you want in.

I know what I’m doing for the Ben Franklin quote essay, but I have no idea how to start the engaging academically essay…they’re probably expecting a lot of responses about the four colleges system, and I don’t know whether I should mention it or ignore it. Omitting it seems like I’m missing one of their major draws, but I probably won’t use it all that much as an English major. :/

Good Idea, I want in.

Ran into a slight problem in that I have no idea what website would work for real time group chat and editing.

im in
i would use google docs
