new post graduate program

I came across this new post-graduate performance-teaching program run through Juilliard, Weill Music Institute, and Carnegie Hall, along with NY public schools.
The Academy -- A Program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute

mamenyu, there's an article in last month's (Novemeber or December) Strad magazine written by one of the fellows in the program. Interesting read if you can get your hands on a copy. The articles may be accesible from the Strad website qs well. They used to require (free) registration to access them, but that may have changed.

I'm pretty sure there was a previous thread on this program 6-8 months back as well.

It strikes me as a kind of Teach for America program from BMus. graduates, and might be a way to spend a productive year (with some performance opportunities at impressive venues, including Carnegie Hall, so some resume building potential), while getting health insurance and a stipend. Good for the public schools too.

Looks like a wonderful program and highly competitive... most of the "class of 2008" have masters degrees from top programs in the country. It is terrific to see artist of this level of accomplishment sharing their talents with students in NYC public schools.
