I am currently living in a triple in Sproul with roommates that I picked last year. However, both of them are likely to get kicked out when grades come in for this quarter as they were both on their last academic contracts afaik. I was wondering what happens to my room if this happens? Will I be by myself in the room, or will housing find random people to put in? If it's the latter and I have some friends who are willing to switch in, when and how should we go about doing so (if it's possible)?

If you want to room with other people you know then you must attend open transfer night early.

That being said, I can tell you I knew a triple room that had one guy move out fall quarter and both guys left in the room were not joined by anyone for the rest of the year.

Happened to me last year. Roommate and I had a quarter of just us 2 in a triple (while still paying for that price) for Winter Quarter (3rd guy moved out in Fall). Housing said if they didn’t find someone to live there for Spring they’d charge us for a double for Spring Quarter. However, they did find someone so meh.

They usually will find someone, most likely an international student or Winter quarter admit. You’d have to be extremely lucky to have a empty space.

Thanks for the replies guys. So I’m guessing it’s safer to just have friends move in than risk trying to get the room to myself?

And yeah, they were on academic probation, and then subject to dismissal or something, and then they were on some weird contract thing. They’ve had a below 2.0 since first quarter last year.

Wow. I’ve never heard any one actually get kicked out of UCLA. If their majors were so difficult, why didn’t they consider changing it to something easier? -_-;;
