<p>Per the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, 2006 NMS candidates, those who took the PSAT in Oct 2004, must take the new SAT to be eligible for a scholarship. The old one will not be accepted. (And that's the answer to, "Why would someone with a 1600 retake the SAT?")</p>
