I have a question about the new score reporting policy I couldn't find the answer to on Collegeboard's website:

Suppose a student re-takes a particular subject test- is it possible to send only the higher score of that subject?

I have a question about the new score reporting policy I couldn't find the answer to on Collegeboard's website:

Suppose a student re-takes a particular subject test- is it possible to send only the higher score of that subject?

I was just here looking for the answer to this exact question! So I can't help, but in my reading it says SAT I by date or SAT II by subject, so my feeling would be the answer is no, otherwise they would say all tests by date.

Looking forward to hopefully getting a definitive answer. Not needing to know this yet, but might try to take a subj test earlier than June to get it out of the way, tradeoff between not overloading in June and not beng as well prepared as possible. If could choose scores, would probably do it anyway with the repeat as the last of three.

I will still do some more searchig through the SAT forums to see if this has been discussed in another thread.

Well I just called Collegeboard and they just told me : Yes, absolutely, it will be possible to send a specific score of a specific subject test.

In other words, colleges may not be able to see that you took a certain subject test more than once to get to that 800 :-)

thanks for the answer!! I hope they update their FAQ to reflect this to avoid more confusion in the future. Maybe when the choice reporting actually goes into effect.

Thanks for that info, vicarious, I've been wondering about that since the announcement. So the remaining question is: will particular schools require all scores anyway?

Excellent question- I don't think we will know until next fall- when it will be a bit late for most people in the class of 2010.
