Ooops I wrote in haste. It seems they've marked the page but the new info isnt posted yet.Sorry about that!!

I just checked on some of this info, and the Carolina Dining site has been partially updated. They do have the 07/08 meal plan prices and hours posted, but there is still some 06/07 info on the page. I called to clarify some things. Colloquim Cafe is included as a meal plan site. Also, the meal plan hours go staright through from 7 AM to Midnight (where available). They had posted for last year a lapse time from 11 AM to 12 noon, but the dining supervisor that took my call said there is only one minute (10:59 to 11:00 AM) that is not included on the meal plan! I am so glad they updated that info, because we were very concerned about that. She also said they are working on the 07 move-in dining schedule, and hope to post that soon.
Someone also told me about the pre-ordered textbook pick-up. (I was wondering how in the world everyone could get into the bookstore at once?!?!?). I was told there are tents outside with boxes stacked and arranged for the pre-orders. Your student just goes up and gets the pre-order box via the Carolina Card...don't even have to go into the bookstore. (Now, of course, we will have to go in for a Starbucks frapuccino!LOL!!)

greenville
not everyone shows up for their books at once..there are many days before classes start and people are busy doing lots of things. Also remember, not everyone preorders..its mostly just first term freshman
as far as dining plans...late night meal availibility is limited to certain areas, and the kids who dont live in those areas dont really trek over to eat there late at night.they will eat off campus sometimes.Colloquim Cafe has been added to the food plan but their prices are higher than other locations,so they will charge above the price of the plan meal (the plan meal is set at a price and if what you order is more than that, they charge you..this is the hardest part of the food plan to understand). Its a convenient location but pricey.S had been getting lunch stuff to go from there but stopped after computing the costs.
don't worry...your S will get his books, and figure out how to eat!!!
