Orientation? Move in day? Help!

<p>I'm new on here, so good to meet all of you. Let me give you my background:
I graduated HS in 2008, accepted to U of South Carolina for Spring 2009 semester. I deferred a semester, meaning I will go to USC in the Fall of 2009 (this fall).
I believe I am late to pay my 200$ housing deposit, but I got it paid around May 18. So now I must say, I feel a little out of the college loop. I've essentially taken this past year off and I cannot wait to get to Columbia!
So, here's the thing. I haven't recieved information about orientation, registration, move in day, etc. I just emailed the registrar about these issues, but I thought I'd ask some well-informed, "normal" people.
Any suggestions about finding out when I can register for orientation?
Really, any advice is greatly appreciated! I don't have a lot of help when it comes to college business.
Thanks again.</p>

<p>Hi and welcome!
I looked up how to register for orientation for you. Registration has been open for awhile…It seems you can do it online or by mail but not by phone.Since its so close to the start dates, I would advise you to do it online…its orientation.sc.edu/reservations.
You may want to verify your acceptance/deferral status, etc first with admissions/registrar,etc and find out why you havent received any mail. Are you on VIP? i think you can verify your status there as well.
I might take things further since the dates are fast approaching and give admissions a call just to see why you havent received any mailings…they are friendly and if they arent the right people to help you they’ll refer you to the proper people.</p>

<p>My D, who was just removed from the Fall 2009 wait-list, registered for housing, orientation, meal plan, etc. yesterday through the VIP login. There were still quite a few orientation dates open to pick from. Call admissions if you don’t know your username and password. Good luck!</p>

<p>Congrats to your daughter, nhParent!</p>

<p>jarnold,
Some move-in information should be mailed to you, but it also appears on the website.
If you go to the main website [University</a> of South Carolina](<a href=“http://www.sc.edu%5DUniversity”>http://www.sc.edu) then click on the “Future Students” tab at the top, you will be taken to a page with links on the right hand side.
Choose “Housing” . Once on the housing page, again choose the “Future Students” tab near the top. On the future students page, under “Important Information” links, you will see last year’s “2008 move-in guide.” Even though it was for last year, this will give you a really good idea of what to expect. The new guide is usually posted just a couple of weeks before the fall term begins in August.</p>

<p>2009-2010 Move In Guide is not available through the university website. Go to current students, housing, undergraduate important information and you will see a listing for 2008 Move in Guide – but the updated version is linked to it. Here is the address.</p>

<p>Thanks for that good info, DON HO! While looking around on the site, I found that they have the new fall housing rates up too. Here’s the link:

<p>Thank you in return, had no idea that the new honors dorm was charging quite a bit more than last year’s honors housing at Maxcy.</p>
