New Study Plan

Hello College Confidential community,

I was wondering what you guys would recommend for studying for my next SAT test. I received my scores for the March SAT and my breakdown was Reading: 800 Math: 690 Writing: 700. I was previously planning to buy directs hits to study up on my vocabulary but with my reading score that will no longer be necessary I believe. For math I'm planning to use PWN the SAT and go through it all to try and hit as close to an 800 as possible, and for writing I'm going to purchase Erica Meltzer's grammar guide and learn the rules by heart. Do you guys think this is a good study plan? Also do most ivy leagues super score? If they do next test I could focus mainly on Math and Writing and go for something 2300+ superscored. Please let me know your thoughts and suggestions. Also if you need any reading section, I'd be glad to help.

Thank you very much,

I really liked PWN the SAT. I got a 770 on the March SAT and I didn’t even finish the book. Didn’t do so well on the other sections though (CR killed me! How’d you get an 800?!). Do you have the blue book? If you use all of those books on top of the blue book for practice tests I’m sure you’ll see improvement.

I think most Ivies look at your best scores but I’m not sure on that and a quick Google didn’t give me a straight answer. Just make sure you’re focusing on school/grades because those are the most important!

Good luck!

@constantstress I honestly didn’t find the CR to be that difficult this time around, when I got home and everyone on CC was freaking out about the CR I got scared because I thought I had to have messed up hard. All in all, in CR make sure to read the questions first, then annotate the lines which are referenced in the questions, proceed to read the passage quickly but thoroughly and them answer the questions. On the other hand in math I choked so I’m going to be reading PWN the SAT Math for sure, did you buy the hard copy or the pdf? Is there any advantage to having the hard copy? Also I’m keeping up my grades and EC’s as well, we have to be well rounded.
