So I am in 11th Standard now and preparing for JEE 2014. I also want to give SAT in January 2013.I solve Question of the day everyday and also do the practice questions. I do the Maths part very well but I face a little problem in English. So I would like you guys to advice me on the same.

@nimit3196 Whatever you do, don’t join a SAT coaching centre. Buy a Barron’s and a Collegeboard book and study from that, it’ll be sufficient. Give a lot of practice tests. Learn at least 50 words every week, if not more. Do that, and you should get a good score! Again, don’t join a SAT class. I joined one last year, and only got 1 1960 on my SAT, but then I studied myself, and gave it again, and now I have a 2200 superscore.

For vocabulary, Direct hits book was a great help…I ordered all the SAT books on flipkart as and when I needed them. Princeton review, official collegeboard guide too are very good.

If you are having trouble with English do what others are suggesting, along with that, what will help if you find a English tutor not a coaching centre. Why I am suggesting this is, sometimes we need help with basics and fundamentals and an English teacher can help with that, the writing and understanding. This person will help you with grammar, vocabulary and writing skills. Once you have that rest is easy. What you need is help with this [English Grammar Help - SAT/ACT Grammar Help: The Bare Essentials](http://www.grammarmechanics.com/satactgrammar.php)
