-Excellent Essay, Peer Evaluation, and Recommendations

You have all the traditional qualifications in addition to being a top singer and ballroom dancer. The only thing standing between you and an acceptance letter is 4 months.

Also, you should definitely consider trying out for one of the a cappella groups.

I now have a better sense of how similar applicants can appear if you're only looking at the numbers and even a lot of the ec's. But here's a question that is worth pondering. Is it me or are there are large number of asians over others who ask about their chances? I am not talking about only Dartmouth's board either. There seems to be some level of insecurity while clearly the stats typically suggest there is a lot to be confident about.

And frankly, I read this and think... solid EC's with tons of leadership, etc seems it'd be a perfect fit.

Still.. it's a crap shoot even when you're perfect. Start reading the chance threads and you soon conclude there is a lot of applicants in a similar range of perfection.

Come on Dartmoose, since we need to prepare kids for the worst case scenario's, I think you guys need to just recommend Dartmouth's premier Youtube offering:

This one was recorded at Dimensions (the accepted students weekend). There was a club fair, and The Jacko (humor magazine founded by Dr. Seuss) decided to set up a fake booth. I can't believe admissions people actually let them do this, becuase some students might of actually not come here thinking we were all Yale wannabe's!

OMG... "kill your twin." too funny. But if any students came there thinking you were yale wannabe's they were clearly lacking a sense of humor and shouldn't be at Dartmouth in the first place. Personally, I loved the "what's the stick for" response.

As you've hopefully figured out by now, Dartmouth is probably one of the least sticklish schools around. In the spring a bunch of students streaked tour groups, and the only official response was "cool, but please don't do this - if you must, do it at a respectful distance!" without even a threat of retribution. And the only issue they had was that some streakers were almost touching prospies - not that they were streaking. It's pretty cool:

I've actually read that before. But, it still surprised me that they would do that. They take Dimensions weekend really seriously. They keep a lot of elements under wraps which I wont discuss here.
