New York area LAC college visit

I'm planning a college visit trip to New York (City) and vicinity this spring break. So far I want to visit Sarah Lawrence, Bard, and Vassar. Are there any LACs in the area I could look at too that are similar to the aforementioned three? Any tips on visiting those colleges?

Any comment is appreciated.

You should probably add Skidmore to your list. Union College is nearby, but it’s not really like the other colleges on your list.

Skidmore would be reasonably similar to those schools as would Wesleyan and Connecticut College, both of which may actually be closer to NYC than Skidmore.

Don’t show up on a Friday at any of them; there won’t be many students on campus. Arrive during the week if you want a feel for what campus life is really like.

Barnard and Bryn Mawr if you are a girl.

When I was a junior I actually went on a trip to visit Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Vassar, and Sarah Lawrence. I stayed in the city and took trains to each school. It was very easy.

good luck to you!

That’s it,everything, good job folks. Suggest OP do the research & whittle down to more managable list; if time wil lbe an issue. Which I imagine it will be.

Thanks guys!

None of the schools mentioned, aside from Sarah Lawrence, is particularly close to New York City. However, if you would consider UC-Riverside to be an LA school, then you might as well consider Bard, Vassar and Wesleyan to be NYC colleges. Other LACs with close proximity to the city include Drew and Wagner.
