New York University Chances

Would someone be able to give me an estimate on my chances of getting into NYU?

-3.4uw/4.1w GPA (both out of 4.0)
-31 ACT (34 English, 31 Reading, 28 Math, 29 Science, 8 Writing)
-Always took the highest level of classes possible, and 4-5 AP classes.
-Had a very rough year junior year due to struggles with mental health, but have since recovered. I put an explanation in the additional information part of the Common App.
-Co-founder and Vice President of nonprofit club at my school that enables kids to help fight hunger in Chicago.
-The rest of my activities are solid.
-I am a very good writer, I believe my essay was strong.

I'm applying to Steinhardt and would like to study both the Music Business courses and Media, Culture and Communications ones. I don't have any experience with playing instruments but I have a passion for and a pretty good understanding of at least basics music industry.

Thank you!

I can’t really tell you whether or not you will get in. I can see it sort of going both ways. Your unweighted GPA is relatively low, but still in range. However, your weighted GPA compensates, and also shows that you have challenged yourself academically. Your test scores are fine for NYU - good, in fact - and your activities seem good. I guess it’s really up to luck of the draw. When admissions officers get applications, they put them into three piles - yes, no, and maybe. I think you’ll be in the “maybe” pile at the least.
