New York University Early Decision 1

I am planning to apply NYU for the first ED and I am not sure of my possibility to be accepted :(

I am doing IB so I dont have any GPA but I guess mine is almost 3.5 ish
I will take my SAT in October and as I practiced I used to get 1800~1950
CR: 550ish
Math 720ish
WR: 630ish

I have done so many extra curricular activities such as orchestra, student government, sports teams, volunteering, and I have got some awards as well. I have several leadership positions such as class president.

I know that only one SAT score is acceptable for NYU but is it helpful to also submit SAT subject scores? I am planning to take Math 2 and Biology in November but I wonder if I can still submit the scores. (I emailed NYU and they said its by early November)

NYU is my dream school and I really want to get into. I've heard that ED 1 has more possibilities than ED 2 or RD. But do you think that it is better for me to apply for ED 2 after take SAT once more in December? I am planning to apply for NYU CAS and may be economics major. What do you think of my chances to get into?

I’m in NYU CAS as an economics major going into my junior year. I applied RD and got placed into LSP (Liberal Studies Program) and later transferred internally to CAS.

My GPA was low (3.0 UW, 3.6 W) but I did have a decent amount of AP’s. I believe I took 8 AP classes.

My SAT was better than my GPA. I had a 2110.
CR: 650
Math: 720
WR: 740
This was my second try. The first time I had around an 1850. I submitted both scores because I figured it shows an improving trend.

750 on Math2C and 700 on US History.

My extracurricular was pretty meh. I did have a few officer positions here and there for some community service organizations but nothing particularly interesting.

Honestly I think what saved me the most were my essays, because I wrote about what I think is pretty interesting. I wrote about Billy Mays in one of the prompts, and on another one tried to focus on how multicultural NYU is and how I’m compatible with that.

I’d recommend you take the SAT once or twice again and try to boost it up a little more. It’s been a while since I’ve been out of high school so I forgot the general timeline of SAT’s, but you should still be able to take at least one before ED apps are due, correct? If not, ED2 should just as well be a viable option.

I can’t give you any exact estimates as to getting in, but I think if you kill the SAT and have solid essays while going ED, you should be good.
