Hey everyone,

It’s come down to the “crunch time” for decisions, and while quite a few students have chosen their schools I can’t help but be torn between declaring NYU and Middlebury College. While I consider myself to a potential languages and/or international relations major (which is what drew me to Midd) I can’t help but think that the undergraduate opportunities would be more vast in a place like NYC which could help me get the foot in the door with potential employers once I'm graduated. Not to mention that rural Vermont isn’t for everyone and, to be honest, I’m rather frightened by the idea of being virtually stranded there. However the programs that Midd offers are not something that can be discounted lightly. But, I also am an active member of the LGBT community and it’s clear that would be something that would be much more active and engaging in the city. So basically I’m torn between the programs that a Middlebury education could offer and the social and career opportunities that I could have access to in the city.

If at all possible, could someone give me his or her personal input on my situation?
