NHS question

So I have to answer these two questions, but I am not sure what to put. Any help?

What do you expect to gain from membership in the National Honor Society?

What do you plan to offer to NHS?

My school doesn't even have NHS...

1). A useless waste of an EC line on the Common Application, false sense of confidence and superiority, proud bragging parents who think their student is "accomplished".

2). Membership fees and body count...

It's not a personal attack on you... :) I just think "Honors Societies" in high school are worthless.... Just BS the application... write some quasi realistic novel about the fervent idealism that you plan to bring to NHS and the sense of mutual companionship you are about to gain...

pretty much agree with whatever Gryffon said...

complete waste of time.

Hey, I don't think there's anything wrong with NHS. I happen to be president of my school's chapter.

NHS is completely useless. It's a huge bureaucracy, at least at my school, and the members that are in NHS are definitely not the cream of the crop. In fact, pretty much all of the top students are not in it.

^ Our "top" students kind of are in it, but that's not saying much. I won't do it. (Actually to be totally honest I don't have the GPA. Bitter? Hell no.)

Ours is utterly useless. It's just a waste of lunch.
