Nice/Bad Areas

Hello

I’ve been looking at various apartment listings in the SD area and I was curious if anyone could reply and tell me what regions/localities to avoid (designated bad areas)… Obviously rentals in La Jolla are probably a pretty safe bet, but I see a lot of options in Pacific Beach, for example, and am not sure if that’s a shady area or not. The same is true for all the other regions.

Can someone please let me know what the shady areas are to direly avoid, and what areas are just fine?

Thanks

a nice place to get an apartment would be logan heights. they even have fairly decent pricings for apartments in that area.

please ignore the person that said logan heights is nice.
Its awful , its the "ghetto" and drive by shootings happen there.

These are all nice areas

Pacific beach
la jolla
del mar
claremont
rancho bernardo
rancho pentasquitos
carmel valley
mission valley
fashion valley

i dont know how far away you want to live from the school.

Logan Heights is a bad area, but it isnt bad to where you would be shot or mugged. Sure, your chances of that happening are raised if you live there, but it's like a 1 in 500,000 chance of it happening. As long as you don't go walking around alone in the middle of the night you won't have any trouble living there. I, personally, would just pick a place in La Jolla since it would be closer to the school. La Jolla is expensive, so if your cash is a bit tight, maybe try claremont, RB, or rancho penasquitos.

I've lived in San Diego all my life so I'm pretty sure I'm right on the ball with these apartments and their areas.
