UCSD apartments

Do the apartment suites come with kitchen stuff (plates, utensils, etc) or should do we have to bring our own?

Aren’t the apartments there really nasty? I read a couple awful reviews. One site has a picture of a real [big] turd for their picture of the apartment. lol

talk with your apt mates to see whos bringing what stuff (certain pots, utensils, kitchen hardware) but other than that bring your own, and which apts?

And theyre only nasty if you let the people you live with ruin them, if you ever have any problems with your apt, tell you college resLife office and theyll come fix anything (thats what theyre there for). So if something doesnt seem right when you move in tell them, its your prerogative to keep the place you live in an inhabitable area

I’m at Douglas Hall in Warren

So…from what I’m getting out of these posts, I take it that the apartments at UCSD have living conditions close to (if not the equivalent of) one of the outer circles of Dante’s Inferno?

Is this a joke? UCSD apartments are pretty damn nice for on-campus, if you ask me. Especially ERC’s which are beautiful and brand new. The only reason I’m not living in them this year is because I want my own space for a change.
I’ve been inside Muir, Marshall, ERC, and Sixth apartments and they are all pretty nice inside. Honestly. I’m sure Warren is comparable.

I’ve posted pics of the Pepper Canyon apartments (serving Revelle and Sixth 2nd-years); see link on the main page

My apartment in Matthews was really nice, and so was all of my friends. There was only one that got disgusting, because a guy broke a glass of honey and left for vacation for 10 days and the place became infested with ants.

Just be clean, ucsd campus apartments are FAR from being disgusting/horrible. I dont know where you heard that from

and i meant “keep your place a clean habitable area”

my baaaad, thats what happens when you dont sleep and then take a test in the morning o.O

What summer class are you taking, BlueSky?

lol i took cse 12/HIEA 117 last sesh (wayy behind on my cse/other class is Ghosts in Japan) and then phys 2C this session

How is CSE 12?? Super hard? I might be a CSE minor.

depends on how much you love to program, but in general, yeah its alllways seen as freikin hard

Are the Marshall lowers really worse than the uppers? I wanted to be in the Uppers just because it’s a bit closer to OVT, but I ended up getting in the lower apartments…

Do you mean “lowers” as in the first couple of floors versus the upper floors? I definitely don’t know about this particular case, but lower floors tend to have more bugs and dust than upper floors. Upper floors also tend to get much better breezes. The only time I preferred living on anything but the top floor was when I used to be a mobile dj and almost literally had a ton of gear that I’d be forced to lug up and down stairs all the time.

Oh, and I’m glad that most of you think that the apartments are much better than I’ve read. If they are indeed that nice, that’s where I hope to finish my last couple of years there. I want to live on campus for the convenience, but dorm living probably isn’t the best for me…I can’t stand being around you kids for too long. ;p

No… there are literally Marshall “lowers” and “uppers” apartments, named so because the lowers are on one side of a slope and the uppers are on more level ground at the top.

The lowers certainly aren’t as nice looking on the outside, although I can’t comment on what they look like inside - sorry.

i actually like the lowers better, they stay shaded, cooler, and i just like the layout…the uppers are verry similar to matthews apartments in pepper canyon, even have the same furniture. its true they are closer to ovt, but yet again, i still like the cooler more private lower tmc apts
