Nice Pens/Pencils

For my first year I always like a really nice pen and pencil.

I hate using #2 to write with and will only use on Scantrons/Standarized Tests.

I was just curious if anybody had a link to some very nice pencils/pens that will be good for paper writing (if an essay is given otherwise I would type with my 85 wpm) or just for notetaking.

Nothing crazy expensive but i wouldnt mind paying 20$ for a very nice pen :D

i just love thin ballpoint pens in blue or black. and zebra mechanical pencils work great

I just hate the el cheap .25c mechanical penciles and i cant really write to neat with like uniballs that right all runny..

Any othe recomendations

Here's one that doubles as a massager...haha

my uncle just bought me a Lamy Safari fountain pen (fountainpenhospital.com) and I find that writing just becomes more fun when using it!

Personally, I really like the Pilot G-2 gel pens. I find they write really nicely, smoothly, and the ink dries up pretty quickly; no "runniness" :). The G-2 is a regular plastic pen with a rubber grip, but it also comes in a fancy version (the Dr. Grip gel pen). You can buy refills for both pens if you want (although buying a new batch of G-2s would probably be cheaper).

For a pencil, I've always used the Pentel Quicker-Clicker since Elementary school, and it is a very reliable mechanical pencil. It has a side-button for advancing lead, and the lead is pretty cheap to buy too. It has never failed me on any scantron test; I even used one on the SAT. I believe this is the #1 mechanical pencil in the U.S., not including the BIC cheap ones.

I second redski's opinion of the G-2. I buy mine in bulk (12 at a time) at Sam's Club. :)

Someone bought me a 'metro' for my b-day ... I <3 it, it's so pretty!

Those pilot G2's always seem to fail or die before their time...

This past school year, I greatly enjoyed some pens that I found, they were designed to write smooth like a rollerball but dry like a ballpoint (important as a lefty). They were absolutely great but I cant remember what they were called, I will post again with their info.

For pencils (since I really only use them for scantrons and the such), I have alwyas just kept a box of bic mechanicals around, itseems to work fine.

Ah, found it:
<a href="http://www.uniball-na.com/main.taf?p=1,3,3#%5B/url%5D">http://www.uniball-na.com/main.taf?p=1,3,3#</a>
In a assorted color pack 2 black, red, blue:

At target they are expensive but here you can get 12 blue ones (best color ever for pens) for around $3:
<a href="http://www.overcost.com/detail.asp?Product_id=SAN33922%5B/url%5D">http://www.overcost.com/detail.asp?Product_id=SAN33922</a></p>

I like thouse a lot although now I have been stocking up on some custom pens they ordered at my workplace that have the company logo and phone on it...they work great.

sorry, that overcost place wants a lot of shipping...

this place is a yahoo store (makes it trustable enough) and is even a little bit cheaper (and has better shipping):
<a href="http://store.splitsecondofficesupply.com/san33922.html%5B/url%5D">http://store.splitsecondofficesupply.com/san33922.html</a></p>

I've used the Uni-Ball jetstreams that otto is suggesting, and they're good too. But I find them very alike to the G-2, except that the G-2 is cheaper.

I confess that I get my G-2s in bulk also at Costco. Very cheap if you go that path.

I hate gel pens. Get a ball point pen made by a gel pen company. Those are nice.

Any small, slender object with a "massage" mechanism makes me wonder about things...

quicker clickers are the best pencils ever.

I've been using them since like 3rd/4th grade =P

... I dunno what the pens I used are called, I just find them and grab them in the store, lol. I think they might be uniball /w grip on them.

wow!

anybody wanna paypal me some cash :D

Haha I was reading all of these and decided to reccommend this pen I've found on my desk that's amazing and I realized it's the Pilot G2 also. So I must agree with the previous posters. The pen's amazing.

Dr. Grip platinum edition pencil, or whatever its called. They are awesome, and work as number 2 pencils for scantrons, at least they have for me for all of high school. For a pen any one that is ballpoint and costs more then 10 bucks will probably be good.

Zacdizzzle's link to the Sensa pen... those are really nice, too. I got one from a close friend/his family for graduation and I've been happy with it. It writes just like the G2s, but it's got alot more weight and the cool squishy gel thing where you put your fingers. I don't think I ever would have bought for myself, though, because I'm not an expensive-pen-buying person. I loose them too much to be one.

Mirado Black Warriors are premium pencils. MMM...

I love those Dr. Grip pencils.

Bic makes the best everything...pens, pencils, lighters, razors etc etc.

I personally prefer the cheap bic ballpoint pen, as well as bic mechanical pencils, which come w/ a nice grip. these arent expensive at all, but work absolutely perfectly ALL THE TIME. the pens never just stop working for no reason like some gel pens and crappy ballpoints tend to do. its also nice because theyre essentially disposable, being so cheap (and often free if you steal from hotel rooms/banks/work, etc) anyway, if youre the type who just has to have a nice pen, the Bic PhD pen is great... its about ten bucks, has a very nice look and grip, and you can get a pen, a pencil, or one thats a pen/pencil/stylus all in one (thats the one i have)...anyway, they are a worthy investment
