Does Texas A&M letter say anything about maintaining a 3.5 GPA in order to keep that NMF award? That may not be hard for some majors, but for some STEM majors it could be.

The TAMU letter does not, but that is in fact the requirement for the NM and the President’s Endowed scholarships, so the bulk of the NM money does require a 3.5. There is a “probationary semester” before the money is pulled, and there is an appeal process. Most of the other A&M scholarships (not tied to NM) do not require a 3.5. My kids have some at 3.5, some at 3.25, and some at a lower GPA.
Has anyone received notification from a principal about NMF status?
@kmywest, we are primarily keeping watch over on this thread now: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/national-merit-scholarships/1723116-unofficial-class-of-2015-national-merit-finalist-thread-p14.html
I do not believe we have confirmation of any school receiving a list of finalists, though we have at least one second-hand account of it over there.
Thank you!!! I will switch over now I also should share that my son went to his principal to inquire about his status and was told that he would let him know as soon as he heard anything.
In case anybody is still checking this thread, I got my letter (home school principal’s) in New Mexico. I am a Finalist.
You did??? Congrats. Soo happy for you. Wow.
@albert69 yay…congrats!
