NMH hopefuls!

I love their motto and my interviewer said I could play competitive video gaming^_^

Do they have competitive video gaming as a club? Interesting.
Education for the Head, Heart, and Hand?
What do you love about the people?

p.s thanks pxalaska for the PA #

The students and especially the teachers seemed warmer and more engaged than some other schools we visited. I left with the feeling that they really were interested in teaching not only the top students, but everyone who was anxious to learn. This is not to say that they don’t have plenty of 4.0/99% kids, they do, but they seem to make a real effort to see each child as an individual and there is less pressure to be “perfect.” It is progressive but still structured. I also liked the longer block schedule, and the work job program. Jobs involve taking on real responsibilities - not just pushing a broom down a hall, and every kid gets one!

I agree with what chemmchimney said - it felt like NMH was trying to say - you can be as excellent as you can anywhere, and also there is less pressure, we take pride in the fact that our students go on to the college that is the best fit for them, not the most prestigious in the narrow sense, LOVED the blocks, liked the campus, really liked the faculty we met. It was my top choice of the ones I visited; my DD visited others with my husband so has another favorite (Loomis) but NMH is second. We’d both be delighted to have her there.

@kymomndad it’s not a club/sport, but it’s my thing. I play in video game tournys and I have a team that counts on me. But I asked if I could start a team there and they said yes. I’d love for video gaming to have a school league someday. If I was ever influential enough, I’d make it happen. Video gaming is just as important to me as tennis or drawing, but it doesn’t get recognized as anything more than a time-waster. I disagree with this because competitive team video gaming requires teamwork, practice, and reflex that any other sport would require.

/end rant

I love NMH for a lot of reasons. I’m short on time so I won’t say much. The one thing that bothered me was the bullying incident in which some guy carved “HOMO” into another guy’s back. That sickens me especially since I do happen to be of the ‘homo’ variety.

Ok so I got rejected everywhere, and NMH is my last hope!! GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!

^same! I received my first rejection from Hotchkiss. I’m pretty sure I’ll be rejected at Andover and Deerfield as well. Either way, this experience has been great. Good luck to everyone!

Honestly NMH is my top choice. Hopefully i’tll pay off tomorrow. Otherwise it’s the local private day school (which isn’t a bad choice or anything, but I prefer NMH)

I just got my acceptance letter(email)!!! Cant believe it!!!

I am very happy for you. All the best at NMH and I hope your surgery went well!

My son M received his acceptance letter this morning as well although he was knocked out until 8:15am this morning. Slept all night like a baby unlike his parents. Haha! Glad this process is finally over so he can focus on his school work again and move forward with the next chapter in his life. Congrats to all the new NMH accepted students and best of luck. You have all worked very hard so enjoy the spoils of a job well done!

Sigh. I really wanted NMH:/
