NMSQT SAT Question

I am currently a junior. I realize that after I take the PSAT and if I qualify for the NMSQT, I will be notified by April or some other time in Spring that I am a semifinalist. In order to become a finalist, I must have SAT scores that indicate the same level as my PSAT scores. My question is "Which SAT score is valid? Must I take the SATs after knowing I am a semifinalist in order to become a finalist or can I use SAT scores taken prior to knowing?"

For example, if I take the SATs this coming Oct. 6 (which will be before I know if I am a finalist and even before I take the PSAT) and do exceptionally well, can I use these scores to "confirm my PSAT scores" in order to become a finalist?

Thanks for any help.

Well first off, in April you only get notified that you are at least commended.
You don't know about semi. until September.

Yes, you can use that score.

EDIT: For those taking the 2007 PSAT the range of acceptable SAT dates should be March 2007-December 2008.
