i heard that you aren't allowed to bring backpacks or bags into the buffet halls. why is this?

If that’s true, I’d assume it’s because people would stuff food into their backpacks.

^It’s more so because students would stuff plates, utensils, and cups into their backpacks… or so I heard.

But I’m sure they’re concerned about their food as well.

Yea, people really do take stuff/food from the dining halls.

See here:

Some of the stuff people take is crazy. Most I’d ever take is a lot of food.

It’s pointless though because people can easily hide empty dufflebags in their clothes and then stuff food and plates and utensils in there once inside.

And how do you propose they get out with a giant duffelbag of crap?

Has anyone tried to steal the ice cream machine?

The stated reason is that it violates fire marshall building codes because they block the floor in event of emergency, which of course is complete B.S. since that would mean you wouldn’t be able to take your backpack into any classrooms for the same reason. And people bring backpacks to Late Night all the time and no one cares.

Make use of distractions and use people as human shields. This isn’t to be taken lightly. It is a serious sport, and I am currently at an advanced level. You my friend, are just a novice.

In all seriousness though, don’t fill the dufflebag up too much so that its giant. Just put enough so that you can walk out with enough stuff, but still be able to put it under a bulky jacket or sweatshirt. (Like put 5-10 burgers and a couple other utensils and whatever else you want). Oh and I was serious about the human shields too. If people have stolen the giant hot dog sign from late night, and have stolen 50 cookies, I’m sure anything is possible (besides taking the soft serve machine or Juan the omelet guy)

i think there’s a facebook group about this… chairs are rumor as largest item… friends of mine have grabbed a bushel of apples… (the whole bucket they put them in)

“chairs are rumor as largest item”

No. Juan the omelet guy is definitely the biggest item. But chairs are the largest item that have been stolen so far and are probably the largest item that could ever be stolen (unless someone managed to take a table)

looks like i need to acquire my silverware and plates for my apt next year
