I am currently a sophemore right now and I have a 3.6 gpa with 1 AP class. I volunteer pretty much every Saturday I am on pace to have about 400 hours of community service and I am in film club. My freshman year however I screwed up terribly and got a 1.8 gpa. I have improved significantly. I was wondering if I would have a shot at all in getting into Fordham. Thank you for your help!

If you are a Sophomore now you have been in school for what…a month at most depending on where you live, right? It is far too early for you to be “chanced” for Fordham or any other school. What you need to know is that your poor showing in your Freshman year will not completely ruin your chances if you improve significantly over the next two/two and half years. Continue your upward trend in a challenging curriculum, prepare well for the SAT/ACT, keep volunteering and pursuing any EC’s that you are passionate about, and you might try some new clubs, teams, etc. as well because you could discover other areas of interest. Above all, don’t forget to have fun in high school, too…it isn’t ALL about getting into college! Good luck! :)

Yea it is pretty early to tell but my school runs on trimesters so the first grading period ends in two weeks.
