Wherever you end up at school, just make sure you don’t give up on your dream to play basketball. Every school has rec teams and and many have club teams and often they are pretty good competition. I know that you earlier stated you want to play at a college level, but just the fact that those playing rec ball are older and bigger than players in high school can make it a very challenging game. It’s not always a good idea to choose your school based on a sport because if something happens to the sport, you are still stuck at the school. Come up with a list of schools that you feel would be a good fit for you and that are affordable, and then take a look at possibilities to play basketball. Good luck!!
So you don’t know any schools that have the policy?
Sorry- I don’t but I’m also not as familiar with basketball. My son plays soccer and I don’t know of any coaches that have a no-cut policy. Also, even if a school did have a no-cut policy, they would still hold try-outs so that any prospective athlete would have to make it past the try-out to be on the team. Even at D3 schools, I believe most basketball players have played at a high level on club travel teams in high school, so try-outs would be very competitive.
