No Fed loans on college bill. Why

Just got the college bill for my S. Last year he had a couple of Stafford loans, one unsubsidized and one not. In this bill no Federal loans of any kind are listed. We filled out the FAFSA and our EFC indicated he qualified for those loans. What would cause the school not to include the loans this year? I'm lost .. he needs those loans to afford college

Just call…you can still get them if you have uncovered costs.

There are several reasons for the loans not being on the bill. If he hasn’t been offered the loans in the first place, he may not have completed verification. If he has been offered the loans & hasn’t accepted them yet, they won’t be there. If he has accepted the loans, it is possible that the bursar does not include pending loans on the first bill … in which case you can subtract them from what you owe (remember it is one-half the annual total per semester if it is a semester school, and multiply by 0.995 to take the loan origination fee into account). Also, since loans will not pay out at less than half time, if he is not currently enrolled at least half time, the loans may not appear on his bill for that reason. And last but certainly not least, if he has any issues with Satisfactory Academic Progress, he may not be eligible for financial aid … so check that out!!!
