no financial aid freshmen year

Hey,

I am going to NYU CAS in fall 2013. I submitted my CSS late and as a result didn't receive any financial aid (neither merit nor need-based). I am able to pay full but like every sane human being, Id rather not. I was wondering if I may be able to receive aid sophomore year assuming I do well in college so that I can get merit and perhaps need-based. I am fairly well off so I don't think I'll be able to get much need-based aid. Any insight would be appreciated. Please take into account that its nyu. Thank you.

Most merit aid is reserved for incoming freshmen.

You should be able to look on the NYU website and see if they offer merit aid to continuing students, either university-wide or through academic departments. Of course, even if they do, that means it’s a possibility, but far from a likely source of funding your education.

Do you know what your EFC was?

This should tell you if you would have qualified for any need based aid which from what I hear is not good at NYU to begin with.
