No grades to self report

I went to a small private school (Waldorf) on the east coast where we were not allowed to know our GPA class ranking etc. Not having access to that wasn’t a problem until i started working on my CA schools where they require you to self report your grades from all of high school. I don’t know how students do it here but I just moved to CA (I’m taking a gap year) and I can’t find all the grade reports I’ve received and they’re not available to me online. I can probably put something together with the information I have but I guess my question is how accurate do I have to be and is it better to over estimate or underestimate? I asked my guidance counselor for the papers but she’s very busy and like I said they don’t let us see stuff like that so I don’t know if there’s a version she can send me I just wanted to be prepared just in case she can’t send me the grades.

You left the school but still aren’t given access to your grade reports? That sounds pretty outrageous to me. You’ve left the school and are required to get a full history (it’s too bad you didn’t get an official transcript when you were leaving)

Waldorf is responsible to your current HS (and to you) with a full history of your performance. Surely, they prepare transcript/grade reports to college bound students. Why can’t they do it for you? Have you GC call them and demand your records. Then the GC can give it to you. If your GC isn’t getting anywhere, get your parents involved.

Sorry I was unclear Waldorf is the name of my high school I just mentioned it because some people might be familiar with their philosophy of student centered learning. It’s kind of like a Steiner school or Montessori school. Most students apply to east coast schools so they aren’t really experienced with the west coast admission process. I probably have access to the grades it’s just a matter of attaining them. From the tone of your answer I take it I need these grades to report them accurately :frowning:

Just pick up the phone and speak to the school. Also check out the school profile, from the look of other waldorf HS profiles, there certainly are grades and that a school doesn’t rank isn’t even uncommon in standard schools. Ask for your transcript and if you are relying on this school for recommendations, play nice.

My GC got back to me with my GPA and a draft of my transcript is on the way. I just wanted a backup plan in case she didn’t respond in time I have to admit I caught this mistake last minute. Thanks for the advice!
