*** No Green Card = Good News? ***

You'll never take me alive!;)

hmm looks like we'll have to add "if received green card" to the stat list :D

So based on this logic, the fact that they sent me duplicate green cards must mean that I'm really in trouble. :)

Even funnier is that one of the envelopes had me living in Reno, NV 89509, Afghanistan.

people who are auto-admits got yellow cards.

what school do you go to pimpfosho? do you go to reno? or manogue?

You know, I think this might have become my favorite Penn thread on CC. Who would have thought that the green cards could generate such heated debate and hilarity?

didnt you get that memo

haha littleathiest you should check out the links discussion on the brown thread

I'm from Reno. How do you know about the Reno area?

letmepass i agree when decisions come out say whether or not you received a green card. i'm kinda curious now

i bet if any adcoms are reading this, they are getting a good laugh after a long and tiresome application process.

pimpfosho--it's because I go to high school in northern nevada. when i did my alumni interview he told me three other kids were applying from northern nevada. two from reno (i know who they are) and one from the carson city area

where do you go to high school at?

I know for sure that a lot more than 2 people are applying from reno high.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but when the rep at Penn says "you shouldn't worry about your decision," I think they mean that you will get one. In other words, just because you didn't get a green card doesn't mean that your application was not reviewed or something. I just means that not gettin the card did not jeopardize your application.

I mean...I didn't get one either. I would like it to mean something. But, think about it. I doesn't mean anything.

well, this year was an abnormal year. i think reno had like 18 nation merit semifinalists

Yeah I think something crazy like 17 national merit finalists (which I was not one of), and 10 presidential scholar nominees (which I was one of), but I'm pretty sure that Reno had 9 people apply to Penn and one got in early decisions but i'm not exactly sure what program she applied to. Hopefully that didn't just take Northern Nevada's spot.

I got a card from Penn today(they day, they are mailing letters(:D)) saying that they have received my app, but i am not sure if it's blue or green.

you aren't sure whether it's blue or green...?

No Idea. Maybe it's Bluish Green? Or I need to go back to Nursery(:o)

It's the blue card. They havn't said anything about your SAT/transcripts. That's on a green card which has a bunch of boxes on the back (some checked).
