No lies

UC wants the truth on student applications - Los Angeles Times

Does this only apply to freshmen? In the article they only mention the number of freshmen applicants. Also from the UC notes:

"During evaluation, the University selects a random sample of freshman applicants who must submit verification documents in order to be considered for admission. Prospective students whose applications are selected for verification will be notified in early January; the deadline for submitting the requested documentation is Jan. 31.

Counselors should reassure students who receive verification requests that they were chosen randomly, not because they did anything wrong. Still, they must take the notification seriously. Failure to submit the requested materials will result in their applications being withdrawn from further consideration at all UC campuses.

Applicants may be asked to provide documentation about any of the following: awards and honors, extracurricular activities, community service, educational preparation programs, work experience, academic history and the personal statement.

Beginning Jan. 7, transfer applicants must update their grades and coursework at the UC Admissions website on the Update Transfer Application page. They must add their final grades from fall and update their planned and in-progress courses."

UC Notes Nov 2008

The UC notes mention that freshmen application are checked but there is no mention of transfer applications being checked and they talk about transfer applicants a couple of paragraphs after the one about freshmen verification.

shakes head cmon people, let's not fabricate stories on our apps just to look good. The facade eventually breaks down.

jet, does it matter? freshmen or not, no one should be lying on their application.

what the hell? how are we supposed to succeed in life without being dishonest? don't these people know some of us are trying to get jobs in finance???

interesting

^^ izzy> lol

Hhmm...they do check transfers too Jet. But why do you ask? /glare

honesty is the best policy...sometimes.
