Am I screwed D:

I definitely wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure the majority of people whom Brandeis admits do not receive likely letters. You'll just have to wait and see. :)

the top 500 students received likely letters Students to aid admissions - News given that a class of students is about 800 and that they must admit much more to yield that number, there will be many more students that will be admitted than received likely letters. hope this clears it up...good luck!

Although, it is interesting to note that Brandeis does send out what seems like a large percentage of likely letters. Out of the 7, 724 applicants for the class of 2012, nearly 2, 500 (32%) were accepted. Assuming that these numbers remain fairly consistent for this admissions cycle and 500 applicants received likely letters, almost 20% of those admitted received likely letters. That seems like a fairly high percentage, but maybe it's not, I'm far from an admissions expert.

In any event, I'll just be thrilled if I get one nice letter from Brandeis in a few weeks :)

Yeah I'm a bit bummed, actually. My stats are definitely above average for Brandeis and I applied hoping to get a good bit of merit aid, but it looks like since I didn't get a likely letter, I'm probably not getting any merit and lucky if I just get in.
At least I got selected to apply to Geneseo Honors? :)

geneseo honors is a great program, chandler. infinity, i'm only speculating but i think they sent out so many likely letters because admitted students day is april 7 and when kids visit brandeis, they really really like it so they want to get the most stellar students as possible to visit because for those people out-of-state, having to make travel arrangements in 7 days is difficult.
