No More Ibanking Threads!!!

Consulting requires a lot of traveling, even at the analyst position, so it can potentially be very draining, especially if you get fatigued by traveling. In terms of hours, though, it's considerably less than i-banking (60-70 hours workweeks, as opposed to 90-100 hours). Most people in the business world have told me that consulting is a more interesting profession and more lifestyle-friendly than i-banking, but the drawback is that it doesn't pay as well (especially at the highest levels).

You're correct redhare. Clearly confidential has not yet worked for a consulting firm. As someone who has, I can say that balanced life is the last way to describe that of a consultant. The travel is constant. And much of it can be to factories in very unglamorous places for example. The hours are long. The internal competition to become a partner harsh. Most women who become mothers stop if they can afford to. The men just get old fast!

lol i dont mind ibankers being payed more than consultanats..........i really wanna pursue consulting.....i grew up around the world and i was once considering being a diplomat because i loved to travel so much.........plus consulting is business related(definitely the icing on the cake).......

i am definitely going to go ahead and pursue industrial engineering first...........what kinds of jobs can iget with a industrial engineering master degree.......
