For me, it's impossible for someone to a)say my last name correctly and b)spell my last name correctly, though the funny thing is that when they finally realize what my last name is, they ask, "Oh, are you related to that famous singer?"

my name really isn't hard to pronounce, but since it's two words (sometimes hyphenated) people always get confused and only use one of the names. It's also impossible to fit it on the lines asking for last names.

Try a Hungarian last name. Uggggh. It's only five letters, so everyone tries to say it, and that is the most annoying part. my easy first name lulls them into a false sense of security, then they hit my last name like a brick wall. No one knows how to pronounce the "Gy" at the beginning, but it's not hard. Just say it how it looks. done.

but the girl who had a locker next to me in high school had a really long, greek last name that no one ever said right. They always just called her "Anna H."

My first name is hard to say for some people. There are many many versions of it now because everyone says it a different way. There are also two ways to say my last name which is the name of a country, so people constantly ask me if I'm from there.

I have a friend whose name is a number, and when she says "my name is 3" people are always like "do some ppl call u 4? hahahhahaha".

Name jokes are oh so funny.

Sometimes, for simplicity, my friends just call me Asian. @.@

At least you don't have this kids name...

Wow. Poor kid.

Although that does remind me of a friend who had a cousin first named Pig (for the year of the pig), then Hurricane (as strong as a hurricane). The names were in Vietnamese, not English, if that makes it any less weird?

Haha, name jokes. ^His dad must've been really proud to pay that much and keep the kid since he gave him that name. I was just about to ask, if you all knew any kinda funny names in your school . . .

kelli raspberry
jill NAUGHDY (no one even called her jill. it was naughty girl from day 1 and that's it.)

and yeah, some others, my mind/'s kinda blank right now. there was a kid (graduated in 06) who couldn't spell worth ANYTHING.
he spelled juice as joose, and from that point on, he was known as joose. i didn't know his first name till this year, even teachers call him that. haha. he spelled middle meddle, people pepul, etc .. he was really really good at chemistry though.

Horrid Celebrity Baby Names
I cracked up at Pilot Inspektor Lee & Crumpet Cohen.

I think I'll keep my 1st name and change my last to Ortega. Sarah Ortega. no no . . Sarita Ortega. beautiful. :)

ps..bobert..why the disabling of pm's?

There's a kid in our school whose name is Justin Eric Shen...

...just an erection!

There was also a kid whose name was Hollis Chin Kee Fat....I'm still convinced that was fake name.

Mike Hunt

My last name is spelled exactly the way it's pronounced, but there's a cell phone company that spells it with an additional letter, so people always get that wrong. Either that, or they try to spell it with a k instead of with a c. Sometimes they add the k and the extra letter. It's kind of annoying.

mine is umipig

Haha, coolness. Have you ever visited? on google map, if you put your name, you might be able to find it. i tried with my friend and another guy in my school (syrian and pakistani respectively) and google came up with their hs location or the college they planned to attend. pretty neat! doesn't work with my name though . . you can try it with you.

i dunno exactly what nationality, it came from my grandfather, who was also a mix of nationalities. it means "the light" in arabic.

only to those who know him

I think I have a pretty normal sounding Scottish name, but people still butcher it. People did it in America and do it even worse in German. It's sad.

I have a rediculously easy last name, but people make it hard. Brownstone pretty easy, I think. I had one person spell it braunstowne dude, it screened out w t f?? what's so wrong with that? wow , anyways

W T F??

people always screw up my last name. Every time I go to the states, at the airport I have to waste like 5 min with the people at the customs and immigration stands spelling my name and explaining the correct pronunciation ( since they insist that they must learn to pronounce it correctly). My second last name ( yeah,w e use two last names) is a typical hispanic last name, quite cliche actually, so I have no problems with that one.

Ericsson :)

Well, the phone company spells it that way, but my name is actually Ericson, with one s. I always have to specify, even though ours is the (in my opinion) most self-evident spelling. Otherwise it's either Ericsson, Erikson, Eriksson, etc... honestly, people, it's not that hard!
