I knew a man with the last name Blaszczyk. He was my TV prod teacher, and even the school he taught at spelled it wrong. The first time I tried to find his class, I asked for "Blas-zee-cuh-zick."

I've known some people with some funky Irish first names, like Siobhan (shuh-vonne), Seamus (shay-muss), Saoirse (seer-sha), Aoifa (ee-vah), Caoimhe (kee-vah, not sure if I spelled it right), Niamh (neeve--that one sorta ****es me off) and the worst had to be Tadgh. It's pronounced kinda like the first syllable of "tiger."

i can't wait to say that for a living when im older. ive already been practicing. "steepppp into my officeeee" in a semi menancing tone. i need to look powerful.

sarorah, and all those names belonged to one family, minus Seamus and Siobhan. Ironically, their last name is probably one of the most common ones.

Lol, no. How, chenmeister? My first name is probably in the top 5 for most common in the world.

Well, according to the United States Census Bureau of Population Division, Sarah is number 23 most common as of November 20, 2005. Well, just to let you know, I did find your last name via your first name. Awkward, right? I thought so too.

People always butcher my last name, its 3 letters long, but the letters of my last name have nothing to do with how it is pronounced so it is overwhelmingly funny to see how many ways they can butcher it. When they learn how it sounds, it is ridicuously easy to remember and say.

I could see why people could mess up a short last name . . . fgj .. how would you pronounce that? :)

Yeah, because you knew what SCHOOL I went to! I'd never ever mention my tiny school on here...then it's way too easy. There are only 3 Sarah's in our graduating class. And lets see. . . you know our cell phone number, where I live, what my house looks like, my first and last name, who my friends are. . . . i guess I'll just show you a picture of my room now and social security number. AND THEN POST IT ON MYSPACE!!! Give a hand to all "online sexual predators". AND HEY, while I'm at it, I'll give you our credit card #s too! And you've never even visited the east coast! Amazing, chen. Haha.

my last name is 11 letters long and kinda foreign, so people aske me how do i say it all the time. i just say "try it". most of the time they get it close enough for me not to bother correcting them. my first name on the other hand is 4 letters long but i'm sick of people mispronuncing and misspelling it.

Actually I used THE FIELD OF BLUE with your name. HAHA. You had a pretty good idea going in your post. Why don't you carry it out? ;)

Mine's just 4 letters too, but people always say the 'a' wrong. It's seriously spelled the way it's pronounced, so I just have to laugh when people screw it up now. (Actually, there's a persons first name in it, so I stop & think, geesh, you can't pronounce that name & add a letter? That's sad!)

No English speaker can pronounce it with the right accent (as they can't pronounce "r" "properly")... And no one in the world can pronounce it the way our gardner does.
